A Lamot & Co is a boutique investment, placement and advisory firm focused on private equity opportunities and managers. It does this in Europe, the USA and India.

The managing partners are Alexandre Lamot and Sonali Chandmal.


ALEXANDRE has a 28-year track record in (mainly real estate) investment management, across the value chain from development to investment and fund management. He has held positions with Goldman Sachs, The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Arthur Andersen, Rockspring Property Investment Managers, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI),  

Alexandre has been involved in multi-billion € transactions, 75% of which is in indirect investment, mostly through private equity funds, and 25% through direct asset transactions.

Alexandre holds a BA in economics from the University of Louvain and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Harvard University. He serves on the advisory board of Urban Land Institute Belgium and of ImmofInRe, a global real estate multi-manager investor. He is a visiting lecturer at the Executive Masters in Real Estate at University St Louis Brussels

SONALI has spent 20 years at Bain & Company in San Francisco, London and Brussels. She has served in multiple areas at Bain from strategy consultancy, global knowledge management for the Organization practice , and developing next-generation digital/technological products for Bain. Prior to Bain & Company, Sonali worked for boutique investment bank Robertson, Stephens & Co, in San Francisco and Mumbai focused on technology IPOs and M&A transactions.

Sonali is currently serving as Board Director of Ageas, a global insurance company (NYSE EURONEXT: AGS), Medicover, (NASDAQ : MCOV) a healthcare company expanding into India and of BW LPG a global shipping company (OSLO BORS: BWLPG). She is also on the Board of the Harvard Club of Belgium and of Chapter Zero, the World Economic Forum's initiative that helps board directors to build their understanding of climate change so that they may play a proactive role in the board room in stewarding their companies’ climate transition strategies.  Sonali was also a trustee for the International School of Brussels from 2012-2020.

She holds a MBA from the Harvard Business School, and an economics degree from Berkeley (University of California)

  • ESJ, a Florida-based asset manager specialised in the development of and investment in charter school real estate facilities leased to private school operators on the back of NNN 20-year leases..
